Potential
Your potential starts with an understanding of your identity.
You are a child of God and your purpose is to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever!
To be a child of God is to understand that all the potential of the godhead is built into you. Creativity, skill, and a moral code was hardwired into you. Sin has tainted that and caused us to stray from our original purpose, but that doesn’t destroy how you’re made.
Integrity
The concept of integrity promotes wholeness. A ship with integrity will hold together and remain afloat amidst the storms. Similarly, a person with integrity won’t be reduced to shambles amidst stressful situations, or compromise when tempted with riches, or lord power over others.
Wholeness requires an alignment between ideas, words, and actions. To identify someone with integrity, we look for the person who:
fulfills promises, and takes responsibility for failure
only claims authority within areas of expertise
pursues objects and ideas that contribute to the flourishing of others

End of Year Talk
I gave a talk to the staff and faculty of Norfolk Christian Schools on my last day as operational Head of School. In it, I reflected on ten years serving at NCS and gave some pieces of advice that I learned.
My time at NCS was certainly a mix of good and bad, just like all of life. The bad gave me plenty of opportunities to learn.
